How to bring back the taskbar icon that allows you to switch between folders? Example: In windows 10 at the bottom there's the windows start, then "search the web and windows" bar, there used a icon next to search the web and windows, how do i bring it back? I unpinned it from the taskbar. |

Does anyone know how to set the settings so that windows 10 is similar to windows 7 work when using windows update? In windows 10, as soon as i connect to the internet, it updates and request to restart, but in windows 7 you have the option to select choose what and when to update. |

The automatic updates work much better. I rarely even notice that it has updated and it never asks me to do so. |

It's about time because I found especially on 7 and Vista, the updates were big bogus. |

The battery icon in the taskbar keeps disappearing every time I shut my laptop down. Have to sign in with my Admin account and go to the Device Manager to scan for hardware changes every time, which is very strange. |

Doesn't it ask if you want to do that during initial install? |

Still have yet to upgrade from 7 after hearing countless accounts of Windows 10 slowing down /f***ing up their computers, I think I'll stick with 7. |

It's a shame you can't go back after changing to Windows 10. Or at least that's what happened with me. |

Depends on if it was a fresh install or you upgraded from a previous version. I upgraded from Windows seven so I have an option to revert back if I so choose. Now this is not exactly Windows 10's fault but I've found a lot of my older games are no longer compatible. The compatibility option is next to useless most of the time. They should have included better options than this such as "Run using D3D", "Single CPU core mode" and "Add current GPU to hardware options." All running in compatibility mode seems to do is change some of the security settings. Edited by Pelador, Jan 26 2016, 11:20 PM.

You can go back, but only within a month after Upgrading...after that you're stuck with 10. I did a fresh Install so I'm stuck with it, but I don't really have any problems with it. Then again, I have a crappy computer so I'm not trying to run big games or anything like that. I have the whole Half Life Series, Max Payne 1 and 2, I use Chrome, Facebook and Twitter apps, but other than that the only thing that's close to big is Open Office. So you can tell why I don't have that many problems. I also don't mind the automatic updates, I much prefer Windows to do them in the background without popping up telling me I need to install them, or that I need to restart for them to work. |

I upgraded to 10 long ago when it first appeared and then I went back cause I didn't like it. I upgraded to 10 again not too long ago for reasons I don't recall and now I can't go back. |

Just to report some updates... 10 just got an update a few days ago that fixed several problems and also visually changed certain things. 1. My computer doesn't seem to be using as many resources, therefore doesn't run as hot and loud. 2. I get very little lag if any now, if anything my system seems to be running a lot smoother now. 3. 10 seems to have reconfigured itself to work better with monitors/graphics cards, to give the proper resolution. 4. The whole start menu has been redone to where all programs, pins and folders are on open. 5. The taskbar has also been tweaked, especially the bottom right with the task tray. It seems more logical now(I know I'm poorly explaining it, but if you updated or watched a showcase of it online, you'll know what I mean). 6. Edge also got several fixes and works better with addons/plugins. It's still very buggy and lags for me, but I think it's a major improvement. I mean I don't expect it to be the number one browser anytime soon, but it does run better. I know I'm missing a lot, but that's off the top of my head and so far I'm very happy with this update and thought it was long overdue. |
